The 2012 Alabama Council of the Blind (ACB) State Conference and Convention is going to be exciting, informative, and a great networking opportunity. The Alabama Council of the Blind has worked hard to have a positive impact by sponsoring events, supporting blind and visually impaired people, and helping to increase the quality of life for the blind community. In order to continue to have the same positive impact, we need your help.  As you know, fundraising is a vital part of any non profit organization. 

There will be an auction on Friday night of the Conference/Convention. We need you to help us collect as many auction items as possible. It is sure to be a good time with a lot of great items to bid on. But we need you to begin now collecting those items. We also need prizes for the bingo fundraiser on Saturday evening. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide us. We look forward to seeing you at the 2012 Alabama Council of the Blind State Conference and Convention!!! Come join us and visit with your friends, meet some new people and come away with a lot of good information.

Attached you will find the agenda and the pre-registration form for the 2012 State Alabama Council of the Blind (ACB) Conference and Convention that will be held September 14th through 16th  in Huntsville at the Holiday Inn Research Park.  You will also find a flyer regarding a pre-conference leadership training that will be sponsored by the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services.  The pre-conference training session will be held Friday, September 14th from 9:00 to 12:00. Other conference and convention highlights are:  Legislative Forum, presentation by Talking Book Narrator, panel discussion by Dr. Cary Boswell, Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, Dr. Terry Graham, President of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind and Dr. Tommy Bice, Superintendent of the State Department of Education.

Please note the deadline of August 24th to make room reservations for the conference and convention room rate and the deadline of September 5th for pre-registration.  Also, if you have accessibility needs, it is necessary that you pre-register in order that we can ensure that you are accommodated appropriately.
